Humm. Well I was loaded up on Intel waiting for Northwood to go for the kill but I guess they can't yet.

I think Coppermine was the exception and it was due to the botched notched gate process causing a wide speed distribution.

Also 733/600 is a healthy 22% increase in max clock speed, 2200/2000 is only 10%. [Don't mention the cache increase, because Coppermine also had a much better cache than Katmai.]
