I go with the Mhz leader. I held off for a while because of Rambus but SDRAM seems to sell w/P4 and now DDR is available for the P4. Northwood increased IPC too and shrunk the die. The die is still big but Mhz will win over die size. Intels yields are probably better than AMDs which will compensate for the larger die.
AMD would be a lot better off if they had .13u now but the seem to have fallen behind in process again.
Not to take it personal but Jerry Poed me when he dumped shares in May on inside information? and gave that 2M of shareholders money for a seat at Illinois. Not enough to be negative on the stock per se but since AMD was slipping it looked real bad.

Robert - Re: "admit that I haven't read the Intel thread much the last few months so imagine my surprise when I come back and find that you are on the Intel side Jim!"

McJimbo is the proverbial weather vane.

He always finds out which way the wind is blowing, then leans in that direction.
