I would like to know what thoughts you may have about one vs. the other. 2) They discuss the order placement process on the web site and talk about Native and Simulated market orders to Globex. Is this something one needs to be concerned about? I understand essentially what they are saying, but was not sure what effect, if any, this may have on order processing time? 1 - I use the standalone version. Essentially they are the same product, both are Java applications, Standalone simply means that you don't need a browser window open to run it and therefore makes it less likely that you'd close the Order Entry screen inadvertently. 2 - Re execution time during normal and even fast markets, I have never had any issues at all. However, trading style could make this different for another user. Witness this morning, when stops were run on the NQ.trendvue.com That's not a bad tick... I never place stops above an important juncture like a daily high - they get run routinely. Today was a bad example of this. Does choice of broker matter in this? Possibly but I wonder if in practice its something that can be 'gamed'. My understanding is that simulated stops are transmitted as market orders (unless they are stop limit of course) when price hits the stop price. I further understand that CME takes these on a first in first out basis. Some other brokers apparently provide 'real' stops that sit on the CME machine once placed (not just when price gets there) so in theory that order will be higher in the queue. But I am not certain of this as a fact or not, perhaps someone will chime in. Personally since I never place stop orders in such a place I am just not that concerned about this. But some may be and since you seem to be in an investigation mood perhaps you might want to follow up on this. Also to enter orders I always, always always use Stop Limit so again, my risk is well defined, by me. Re fills in general, it is rare when I do not get filled in full. And for stops under normal circumstances almost always filled at my price. Occasionally better. Rarely worse. Michael
