What do you like about AOL? It seems rather debt-laden and bloated. The parts of the company that have a respected franchise are cyclical (and we have already hit the intermediate term countercycle rally top, IMO). The "sexy" (by 1999 definition) parts of the company, such as AOL, are not growing quickly any longer.

So many astute analysts have named AOL as one of their top picks over the past two years. And they have all been wrong about the stock and the company. Synergy is an pipe dream, a fiction spun by investment bankers.
