well this was totally unbelievable.. And I'm stressing that the action itself doesnt surprise me...

it's common in the market for strange large moves like this to happen occasionally..

the thing that pisses me off is that that is supposed to be why we use stops....to protect ourselves in case of a surprise move or in case we are wrong in our thinking.. but to lose 40 points on a fill on a stop should be impossible...how the hell could that happen.?.. I just don't get it..

my stop on my short was at 1626 and when they went through my stop price I got filled at 1666..forty points higher.. it was unbelievable..I've never lost more than a point before at IB on a stop..... how can one trade with any confidence knowing that even stops can't save you from a catastrophic loss..

I was playing heavily leveraged..and had tight stops in place to protect myself.....this fill cut my acct nearly in half...its totally unreal..

I still can't believe it.
