It is the first diagnostic imaging center managed by FONAR's subsidiary, Health Management Corporation of America (HMCA), a physician and diagnostic services management company, to be upgraded with the Stand-Up MRI(TM). The ability to scan patients in an upright posture allows human anatomy and function to be observed under normal weight-bearing conditions. That's precisely the position you want the patient to be in when you make your image, not when the patient is lying down and the pain or symptoms might disappear altogether."
