Orkrious, I believe it was late October - Intel's CTO commenting - and his estimate was for a 10%-20% cut (or $6.0B to $6.75B). I also believe the comments were above most analyst estimates at the time. I think analysts had raised their expectations through the holidays to a final range pre-earnings report range of $6.5B to $7B and thus the $5.5B number tonight is definitely a negative surprise. Perhaps she'll bounce as you suggest, but I wouldn't bet the farm. Good luck.

After hours and premarket are stinko. Whether the day will be the same is always problematic. We have options expiration Friday and I suspect this is an excuse to move the techs closer to the point of "max pain" - where the most option contracts expire worthless.
