My son likes to watch a cartoon called "Stanley". It is a great show with all kinds of subtle educational stuff going on. Today's episode was about some really cool shoes called "Savannah Speeders". They were based on a Cheetah theme.

The show got into a very basic explanation of the fact that the Cheetah is the fastest land animal, but that it can only run so far before it gets overheated and runs out of energy. The cheetah has to rest for quite a bit of time before it can get up and run again because it needs to cool down and get oxygen to its muscles.

Our market for the past few years has been a "Cheetah Market", not a bull market. It ran really really fast and went really really far in a really really short period of time.....and then it bonked. And now it is resting and trying to get some oxygen into its muscles. And unfortunately, just as it gets strong enough to stand up again, the safari tourists drive up in their zebra striped Landrover and make it run again before it has fully recouped so that it won't be able to run that far and will likely prolong the cheetah's....errrr, I mean "market's" resting period. Oops, sorry, I seem to be mixing up my stories here:-)
