Alomex: Your Netvista A configuration costs $2066

NetVista A22p 6350 (with a measly 20 GB HD, no upgrade possible) w/ 256 MB RAM, DVD-RAM/DVD-R Drive, IBM 2-piece speakers, T540 15 inch SB ENTRY FLAT PANEL, MGI VideoWave 4.0, MS Works Suite 2002

If you can do better, I challenge you to do so and tell us the exact configuration you're putting together, rather than just telling us that such-and-such costs X, without providing details. Your protestations notwithstanding, I have not found you to be a particularly credible source.

As it is, this configuration, with its tiny HD, cheapo LCD, slow video card, and (apparently) no FireWire does not come close to measuring up to the SuperDrive iMac, which costs just $1799 and comes with a great deal of additional software besides.

Now you're saying you can configure a comparable system for the same price as the iMac on the Dell website, too?

Prove it.
