Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

You say (and I quote) My opinion is that no professional would agree with you that capital is a "loan"

Which, by equivalence is My opinion is that no professional would agree with you that a "loan" is capital

Which, inserting what I am saying* into your logic is: My opinion is that no professional would agree with you that a bond [which is a loan/debt] is capital

So I am not misquoting your position as it relates to my argument at all.

Which indicates that you have either (a) completely misinterpreted what I am describing and chocked that mistake up to me in an insulting and condescending manner, or that (b) you are wrong.

Feel free to pick which of your mistakes are grounds for an apology.

As for apologies on my part, well it does take two to tango. And there is very little point (as I have already posted twice) arguing about whether or not things ARE how it is useful to DESCRIBE them. So I do apologize for engaging you (and the thread) in an entirely meaningless debate about minutia.

And perhaps we could discuss the dangers in viewing Cisco's ability to grow its equity as something sustainable enough to justify the market's current pricing of a slice?

John

* To reiterate, an entire industry revolves around converting debt on the one hand into capital in the other. Which industry (as an aside) also revolves around emptying your pocket, even if it is only one piece of lint at a time.
