I believe I saw the same thing recently from an Intel source. Publicly available but I don't remember where. You know next year isn't exactly near term.

I think it was first printed on Xbitlabs. I posted a link here a couple months ago. Since then, it has come across multiple web news sites. I think it's pretty common knowledge, now, that Intel will enable Hyperthreading in a desktop chip in 2003. I believe they even mentioned it at Microprocessor Forum in October.
