And Salutations to you Sam -

BACKGROUND -
First 8 years was in process development at AMD, National, IMP, and BIT. A rollercoaster ride all the way. Took a two year break after that just to regain my bearings.

Last 7 years at Lam on the customer support side - went through the entire boom to bust cycle. Pretty amazing to watch how success can eat a company from the inside out.
... I am three years into my current break. Up until last year's market beat me up I was pretty confident that I had found a more mellow lifestyle. Now I am beginning to contemplate a possible third (and final) stint - depends on how 2002 will treat me.

INVESTMENT STRATEGY -
...My comments refer to my overall portfolio which is pretty spread out among the techs SLR among the ECMs, GTW for box makers, JNPR on the network side, still haven't figured out a software play, AMD on the chip side and probably a couple more, AMAT and NVLS on the semi eq, nothing yet for telecom. I will wait until February to see what looks most promising.
...My outlook is generally mid term - one month to one year out and my current strategy is to roll profits from hot sectors over to lagging sectors trying to follow the ripple effect as the economy comes back to life. However I do overweight in semi eq as I know this industry best and still have good ties there.
