Brian,

Intel Names Paul S. Otellini President and Chief Operating Officer

Heir apparent. Hail to the chief (sometime down the road).

Brian, Re: "Intel Names Paul S. Otellini President and Chief Operating Officer"

According to another article on this subject,

dailynews.yahoo.com

Retirement age for a managerial position at Intel is required at 65. Barrett is 62, so it should be obvious that he is looking for a successor. I wonder how well Paul Otellini fits into this job. It's apparent from his involvement at all the important Intel functions that he is quite involved, so maybe he should do quite well. Anyway, it's an interesting piece of news. Thanks for posting it.
