Dak:

The INTC and JNPR Jan puts acquired yesterday have provided only marginal appreciation so far, but they were both small positions and could move up tomorrow. I did nothing today.

Tomorrow we get IBM, which is of extreme importance to this market. If IBM meets expectations, I think the market will jump, as it is looking for an excuse to rally. If IBM disappoints, a key "darling" stock could suffer an immediate "trashing" and if that were to occur, the rug would be very loose beneath the whole tech sector.

So how to bet on this one? I don't know. I do know that the company has suffered the same "saturated market" slings and arrows as every other tech player, so the fundamentals scream "short and short big". On the other hand, Louis is the master accounting magician and he may just be capable of pulling one last bedraggled accounting hare from the hat. He is looking to duck out of the game near term, so who knows.

At this end, I will likely play small if I play it at all.

No big swingin' "thang" at this end. (g)

Best, Earlie
