Simba -

There seems to be a major acceleration in revenue growth during 99-01 in MXIM and LLTC and in 99-00 in ADI after a few years of flat revenues.

quicken.com.

I thought most of the strength was due to the cell phone handset growth etc, but what is keeping the strength during this recession ? Looks like from the graph MXIM and LLTC may be stealing market share from ADI in 01.

At least it explains the extraordinary relative stength in MXIM and LLTC vis-a-vis the NASDAQ.

Go back to the graph and change the view from annual to quarterly. The annual view just stopped short of seeing the large falloffs in revenues for LLTC and MXIM.

The previous runups were primarily the result of the telecom sector losing control of their inventory and grossly over-ordering. Besides over-production of telecom products that could never sell, and vendor financing for products that their customers couldn't afford, the combination of outsourcing of manufacturing to multiple contract manufacturers, as well as over-hyped supply chain management software, was responsible for utter chaos in parts inventories.
