Cordilleran Roundup 2002 Conference - features Canada's Diamond Exploration Explosion, the B.C. Gold Rush, Government, TSE and Aboriginal Partnerships pro-active changes
mining exploration companies ... front pages in the making...
VANCOUVER, Jan. 17 /CNW/ - Canada could regain its rich resource country status once again. The B.C. & Yukon Chamber of Mines is hosting from January 21-25, the sold out Cordilleran Roundup 2002 Conference with the theme - "Back to Canada" which unites the greatest mining minds in one place. Over 2,500 delegates will attend a 4-day, invigorating and news filling conference at the Hotel Vancouver and the Four Seasons Hotel.
Barbara Stymiest of TSE will speak on move towards a unified Canadian reporting system for mining companies and Hon. Richard Neufeld, B.C. Minister of Energy and Mines will speak on the B.C.'s promising mining future. Elder Frank Wesley, a Manitoba Cree will speak to the Roundup Aboriginal Session ...how they are using the treaty process to encourage mineral exploration and development on Aboriginal lands. Tom Isaac speaks on Aboriginal Rights, Consultation and Access to Resources. Land claim discussions with Earl Muldoe, (Delgamuukw) and the Nisga'a Treaty will be featured.

Canada's "Diamond Exploration Explosion" is generating globally such excitement with Ashton Mining ...we will see Canada become known as "diamond country." Taking the diamond lead - Diamondex, Majescor Resources, Tahera Corporation and Blackstone Ventures, the new generation of junior diamond exploration teams successfully positioned beside lucrative Ashton Mining properties, are making headlines.

B.C.'s "Gold Rush" led by Sultan Minerals with the Kena Gold Project in B.C. (strictly a gold project) - a new gold discovery in British Columbia has led others to stake out hundreds of claims around Sultan Minerals' property. Sultan Minerals has done sufficient geophysical and geochemistry to show potential extending well beyond the area they have drilled to date. Goldcorps is Canada's gold success story...achieving major mining status and contributing to the Canadian economy similarly Northgate Exploration (Kemess Mine) is another Canadian success story...from a near death of a mine to its rebirth. Gifted geologists, a determined management team and a supportive community have attributed to the rebirth of Kemess.

Meet the newsmakers from the major mining companies - BHPBilliton, TeckCominco and HomestakeBarrick ... the year of mining mergers.

Check out 200 Exhibits including "cutting and polishing of diamonds," attend the information sessions, news conferences and many conference events including the Canadian Mining Show.

Hi Vaughn, as usual a really great post.
a few comments;
I don't think Ashton is using Argyle, Australia data to arrive at or determine North slave exploration results, I suspect they would rely on their data obtained from actual findings in Alberta and the expertise of Rio Tinto and the Aber/Diavik data base, I think Aca is presenting very logical, informative information regards their CF results.
Their micro/macro relationships are very much in line with and compare to some of the very best to come out of the Lac de Gras area, specifically Diavik, Ekati and Snap Lake.

I think the TWG, Jackson Inlet preliminary Kimberlite results and indicator minerals are just amazing, astounding and remarkable, it is difficult to grasp just how good they are when compared with the other early stage exploration info........
I like everyone else am watching this one very closely, thanks for the heads up on the TWG play......
There is just something that I cannot put my finger on that prevents me from diving in at this time, I'm sure it is nothing at all and hope they have the biggest Diamond find in Canada.
regards....chuck

Vaughn, "I would not be overly optimistic that using geochemistry based on Argyle would provide ACA with insights that DeBeers, Southernera, BHP, Lakefield or DSP do not have."

Good point, but who knows.
