Bush inherited a hen house that had already been emptied. Look at the stuff Clinton did for Enron and Daschle's wife's lobbying for it.

Ron, In the body of the article the facts presented basically said this.

That resulted surprised even some current and former SEC officials. The
statement from the Big Five and their trade group, the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants, blamed the accounting system, not the
accountants themselves, for failing to require corporate clients to disclose
financial data that could have prevented the Enron debacle. Mr. Pitt
immediately posted the guidelines, including the group's proposal to "encourage public companies to take immediate steps to improve their disclosures" on the SEC's Web site.

As an engineer who has done extensive systems failure analysis. Stupidity is usually the culprit. The checks and balances were out of balance and a failure occurred.

Is is plausible that a bunch of folks could create rules of disclosure that confuse the issue insteadof reveal what is. Hmmmm,,,, IRS rules LOL.

It seems to me that that actions reported in this article are consistent with an honest and rational approach to finding out what really happened and doing what it takes to reduce the possibility it will happen again. Note I don't use the word never or even eliminate as those are the words of fools. Mere mortals can only reduce a possibility.

Critic asses always want someone to resign. If infact your conclusion as stated by your comment is that a fox has been appointed, You are just another vacant liberal minded ass.

This mindless drivel that because someone had contact or dealings with Enron this somehow makes them unqualified is the mindset of the retards.
