Thanks... btw, Mr. Market gave me the opportunity to buy the IBM pooots. Bought some now, plus will buy some if it rallys after earnings. Adding to SPX pooots here as well.

One answer is that a 20 year bear market had shredded some of the gold stocks to the point where they are dirt cheap relative to other investments.

Earlie, thanks for the update.

I agree about the majors. Whether they want to cover their hedges or perpetuate them hardly matters, they are going to have to replenish their resources sooner than later in either case.

Thus the idea of buying gold in the ground for 30 bucks a pound appeals to me too ... <g>
