That DNA story is an urban legend. Nobody has ever seen the actual research in a publication leading me to believe that it is political Jewish propaganda akin to the Chinese and Pasaryk people denying the Tocharian mummies of the Xinjiang province being precursors to Chinese civlization, or that they may be Uigur or Caucasoid. That they are European is undeniable by looking at the mummy.
The only place I have heard the Jewish DNA myth, which I will deal with later, is from Jewish political apologists who related it verbally. The scientific studies or sources are not attested to.
The Jews were in the ME for 5800 years before Christ. They worked and lived in Egypt, Baylonia, Phillistia and Chaldea. No doubt there was some intermarriage and a bloodline established. When two races marry each other, or a person of one race marries a person of another, which DNA shall we say is the one that is responsible for their heritage?
To say a Spanish, or European Ashkenazi Jew is the same as an Arab, is ridiculous. They don't look alike, (Well some have similar racial characterisics, but overall they are different. I don't see any Arabs with blonde or red hair) have the same genetic defects, or speak the same language. Using a similar alphabet is a weak connection. We use the same number system and a related ancestral alphabet, but we aren't Arabs. The usual excuse given for the Jews' European characteristics is that they lived in Europe for many hundreds of years. This bears close examination. If they lived in Russia and Poland in Jewish Ghettoes, and towns in the Pale, and where shunned, persecuted and themselves forbade intermarriage as we know they did, where did all this intermarriage come from?
The Essenes were described by the Romans, light skinned, fair hair, blue eyes. It is in their texts. Now Roman blood and Greek blood abounded in the middle east. Also Russian or Ukrainian in the Scythians and Sarmatians who overran that area for hundreds of years. The Hittites and Sumerians were also Caucasian as were the Armenians. Oriental groups went through there in droves. The Arabs were just one group. They had not expanded by conquest until much later. If the Jews did intermarry commonly before Phineas, then they could have picked up all sorts of European blood as the Syrians did, who are now half Greek, Roman and French. We just don't know. But we know they were different racially then, of different religion and race now, and there has to be some overall abundant and acceptable reason for this. Khassar conversion is the best explanation, but does not account for the Shepardim who are as European or more so, than the Ashkenazi. Blonde hair is a common trait.
The question, of race because of the intermarriage problem cannot be decided easily by DNA, if it were done and properly reported on. Archaeology, and other studies must accompany this. We know their language is different, their alphabet different to accomodate different sounds, their religion oriental and non polytheistic, as the Semitic speaking people's were. We know they came into Babylon after the Gilgamesh flood. We know there are very ancient Jews in China. Now the question is, in ancient times, where did this cohesive, migrant group hail from, and what sort of people where they at that time? We know know the Sumerians were white, a Steppe tribe who spoke a non Indo European language that is the ancestor of modern Hungarian. Our Ideas are changing. We know know there were Europeans in China perhaps 9,000 years ago. By their admission the Jews wandered into their homeland before the flood they say west, which we now know have precisely dated geological evidence for that agrees very closely with the record of the Babylonians Kings on cuneiform tablets. 5800 BC.
If you wander west across the desert for many years and end up in the Northern Black Sea at 5800 BC,then you did not comefrom the ME. That is what I am saying. Their own history and the Bible even say this. They came from the east. That is what they say. Now we know the are not native, but where is east? (The Talmud and Bible does not say how long they came across this desert. They just say many years. That blows the theories that there is precise dating in the Bible or Talmud.) The deserts probably were the Gobi, the Steppes, and they Xinjiang area of China.
It is a fascinating question. If the Jews left China some 9,000 years ago, and wandered into the ME, settling on the shores of the Black Sea before the flood, then both they and the Babylonians predate the Sumerians by 2500 years with civilization. The Cradle of civilization must be pushed back to a desert in China with some unruly white people who spoke a pre-Indo-European language and wore long pointed hats and twill garments and leather. They were highly sophisticated people. Perhaps the wheel predates the classical 19th century date by several thousand years. After all you need a spinning wheel to make twill. We know the Celts gave the Babylonians steel, not iron, perhaps 5000 years before Christ. If the Jews travelled with these people west into Russia and Georgia, some 9,000 years ago, then they could very well be either an oriental tribe like the Persians or Armenians, or European originally. The difficulties are the language. But we know they came into the area with a single god theory which is distinctly oriental, a pictographic, possible oriental language, much different customs, and different word sounds, as they needed a different alphabetwith more characters. Their present very ancient Hebrew alphabet looks much different than Arabic or Armaic did. It is very carefully and elaborately formed, like Chinese and unlike Phoenician script which we write now. An alphabet language does not need elaborate rules of formation, a pictographic language does.
All those scripts and language in the ME were trading languages that spread, they are not evidence of source of the people. They were quickly and roughly written evolving over time. The individual characters became a connected scrawl in Arabic languages. The elaborate characters, extra alphabet characters, different sounds, and complete difference in general sound of Hebrew leads one to believe immediately that the language has different roots. It would be astounding if after 6,000 years, it did not write much the same, and use common words. But in its differences we see all the difference.
