Troubled mining company Pasminco has decided not to sell its giant Century Zinc mine in Queensland. In a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange, Pasminco says the offers received did not reflect the mine's retention value. Chief executive Greig Gailey says the mine is a world-class asset generating a positive cash flow. He says there is no benefit to either Pasminco or its creditors to sell it at a heavily discounted price. Pasminco has been in administration since late last year, and is selling its Broken Hill mine, Elura mine and Cockle Creek smelter in New South Wales, along with its United States operations.
