TigerPaw, That was an excise tax on distilled spirits. IOW a sin tax that would be paid only by those that consumed liquor. That is a far cry from withholding, or FICA, and only affects those that are in the process of wasting their money anyway. With that kind of thinking, we could place a high tax on booze, prostitution, pornography, any and all narcotics, and cancel all other forms of taxation, with a surplus left over. I have heard of warped minds for many years, but never thought I would come across one, until now.
