Good post CB! Of a million monkey, half a million will be right on an either-or bet. One in a million will guess right 20 times in a row and be the smartest little monkey the world has ever seen.

Many SI investors are monkeys [about half]. The hard part is knowing which half and whether oneself is a monkey or not.

The answer is of course that we are each half monkey. But we don't know which half. [My furry forearms are a giveaway]. Half of what we get right is due to brains; experience, knowledge, thought, understanding, wisdom. The other half is due to luck [to a greater or lesser degree depending on the fur content of our forearms and brains].

It's a tough life living in the cyberspace jungle, wondering whether we are lucky or smart and not having a clue.

I'm not a star-gazer per default. I'm fact-oriented and after I had my share of prophets I think I'm cured. I'm also technically oriented (dojis etc) and even if this is all voodoo for you and other personas biding their time on the fences, well, show me better.

You have not. I specifically asked for any references that would interpret the current (US and worldwide) economic situation in a way different from the somber picture Noland paints. You have not provided any. Instead of that you washed your hands Pilatus/agnostic way saying "there's people and, again, there's, you know, other kind of people."

Well, not that I would not know that. But I asked for facts and their interpretation. And you have not helped me a single iota, in terms of what the other kind of professional and amateur star gazers think of the asteroid situation - multiples, dept, current account, high dollar, Japan, housing bubble, Semicons, TelCos - there's all kinds of bodies flying around here, not just Enron.

I'm revising your BS rating from CCC up to CCb-.
