TOKYO, Jan 18 (Reuters) - Tokyo's key Nikkei average snapped a seven-day losing skid on Friday, jumping nearly two percent as an imminent rescue plan for troubled retailer Daiei Inc <8263.T> and a strong rally on Wall Street cheered market sentiment.

The benchmark Nikkei <.N225> rose 1.63 percent or 165.14 points to 10,293.32, while the capital-weighted TOPIX index

<.TOPX> surged 2.31 percent or 22.74 points to 1,007.64.

Daiei jumped 30.95 percent to 165 yen after touching a four-month high of 175 yen ahead of its new three-year restructuring plan, which it will unveil at 0830 GMT. The plan will include requests for assistance from creditor banks.

Major tech shares were also firmer following a 2.13 percent climb by the Nasdaq index <.IXIC>.
