Most people in this country don't know how to read a balance sheet. Much less understand SEC filings/research.

The complexity of corporate reporting -- deliberately so, with the CPA profession in such glaring focus now via ENE -- doens't help matters, obviously.

Many people on SI have spent years, for many hours every single day, on the Internet researching the markets, learning more about finance, etc...and I would guess that many still don't understand fundamental aspects of corporate accounting and finance.

It ain't because they/we are stupid, either.

Compare this group to the general working public. The corporate employee does not have the TIME to self-educate about international finance.

'Elitist' seems to be another of your pet epithets, 'jlallen,' that you hurl around with abandon and glee that you don't really understand.
