Tradelite:

Ah, perhaps you would like to hang around for a bit as I know many of us will have a few questions for you. (g)

I would be delighted to provide you with several examples of just exactly how the BLS rigs,.... make that massages the data. Did you have anything to do with the computation of U.S. GDP figures in your work?

Best, Earlie

Not only do I know some of the people who compile these statistics, but I spent many years working in the office which released them every month, so you will have to excuse me for getting somewhat amused/annoyed at internet gossip which constantly tries to paint the government as a liar when it comes to dispensing public information which it is required by federal rules and acts of Congress to dispense for the good of the public.

A single word.
Bullsh*t

Why does the market bounce on every uptick in GDP (which every time is revised down later)

Why was there "no recession" until it was obvious to the man on the moon that there was one, then we hear the news, "by the time you recognize a recession it is over".

What about those "productivity numbers". Were those revised down? Whay do we have a different measure than Europe in the first place? To mislead perhaps?

Jobless numbers, are they ever revised?

At any rate, perhaps if they got the numbers right the first time, without a revision (with little fanfare about the first number that is ALWAYS OVERSTATED and NEVER UNDERSTATED), people might believe those numbers.

As I see it
1) Th numbers on this stuff are outright lies
2) The people producing the numbers on this stuff are so damn incompetent they do not know apples from moon rocks.
