Between that and the money Californian utility companaies owe Enron from last year, there were some cash problems. And, if enron could have come up with a few hundred million to cover these losses, there credit ratings wouldn't have hurt, and they would still be a going concern, IMO.

Thanks for the article. I have been looking for exactly that information. Along with info on how much California owes Enron. It was mentioned by a NY Times reporter on CSPAN the other day, I think Frist was his name.
