From hearing Netanyahu speak, I would say he's middle of the road leaning left. With Arafat, I don't have a clue. Netanyahu is usually called a conservative. He probably would favor more state control of the economy then many people in the Democratic party in the US, but Israel is more socialist then the US, and his ideas would result in the government exercising less control of the economy. He is for a strong defense and would be considered hawkish in terms of how he would deal with the Palestinians at least by the Israeli left. Tim, your description of Netanyahu makes sense. I tried to get into an Israeli mindset but its hard to judge where the cutoffs are..........the US is so much more conservative than Israel as well as Europe. But I would still describe him as more middle of the road while maybe leaning right instead of left. ted
