Speaking of SA, I find the irony of this piece to be almost too precious for words:

news.bbc.co.uk

Think he'll get any money?

I'd not underestimate OBL's understanding of how to play the media game. Consider these possibilities:

1) He made videos trumpeting the glory of some fresh terrorist attacks. Alive or dead, his videos will be played to give the appearance that he's alive.

2) He'll emerge, but only after the next attack.

3) It's not in his best interests to trumpet his aliveness, nor is it in the interest of any country to be sheltering him. Knowing this, he'll operate more clandestinely, and stick to written communiques. It worked well for Carlos the Jackal, Abu Nidal, etc. for many years.
