of Q shares is going down (according to the recently arrived annual report

the long term trend seems rather expansionary. unless they stop issuing options,
or start buying back shares in excess of issuance, i don't see how that trend will change.

Year ended 09/30/98 09/30/99 09/30/00
Shares Outstanding 564,724 646,364 747,651

and more recent shares outstanding are 765.9M.

Well, on a positive note, the ECRI folks say that the uptrend in their leading indicators remains intact, and they expect to declare recovery on the way this quarter. They also dismiss the possibility that we will see a double dip recession, in which we have growth for one quarter followed by renewed recession. (press release at www.businesscycle.com)

So....what's up with the Q today? Sure looks weak going into earnings next week.
