I have a couple of computers connected in a LAN, and when I play some 3D action game on my Linux, my wife may play something else via X-Windows on the same computer but from another screen and keyboard via ethernet. As simple as that. I still remember those days in the 1990's when only one of us could use the same computer at a time. That was very annoying.
