Re: "pgerassi - You claim 30 listings on pricewatch.com for the 2.2 GHhz Northwood is a trickle?
Why didn't you claim the XP2000+ was a trickle when in prior days there only 10 or 15 or 20 or 25 listings on pricewatch.com?"

Perhaps the point to note is that despite the very low production volumes of XP2000+, there are still enough unsold to show up on pricewatch. Looks like AMD has to dump their top of the line product at the fleamarket.

Dear Monica Detwiler:

If NW is "so available", why are the listings of motherboards with them are so few where Intel based motherboards are more plentiful and AMD is supposed to have many less motherboards? NAY! AXP 2000+ is very much more available that it finds itself being sold onto twice as many CPU and MB combos than the larger Intel and its NW does.

Yes, AMD treats the DIY market with the respect it deserves. It sells more CPUs and systems than all of the first tier vendors combined! And Dell is a poor second and getting further behind! Or do you refute the evidence from third parties? Yes the rumors are that NWs arrived at the shops after ordering 100 and they got 2. I found more than that of AXP 2000+ in each of my local DIY shops last week.

Yes, the AXP 2000+ is more available. And let me remind you how your comrades dissed many AMD launches when they stated that listing on PW may not mean they had it actually in stock. They claimed that, if you ordered it, they would simply order it from theirs and you would not get it until they did, whenever that was. Well the shoe is on the other foot, no DIY shop I visited had even 1 NW 2.2GHz. They did have some P4 1.8GHz CPUs (and slower) they could sell me and one even had a 0.18u P4 2GHz. Some availability, huh?
