The fact you didn't understand my point doesn't surprise me at all.

The fact that you didn't respond to mine doesn't surprise me, either.

Well, the sodomy laws in Texas and the one in Virginia were passed in the Reagan administration as a response to AIDS. The laws are currently being enforced in Texas, I know the Virginia law was enforced about 10 years ago on a married couple who weren't vigilant enough in closing their drapes.

The Texas sodomy law has been on the books for many, many years. However, in its current form, it was signed into law by liberal Democrat Ann Richards, in 1992 or '93. So I'm not sure who you're pissed at on this one.

The point is that the sodomy laws are applied infrequently, reserved for the most unusual of circumstances. And while no one really feels compelled to outlaw homosexuality, there are times when homosexual behavior is so "in-your-face" that we do need to maintain some reasonable control over it. (I was unfortunate enough to be in New Orleans over Labor Day, when some 50,000 homos crowd into the French Quarter and act like idiots; I wouldn't have missed it for the world, but I plan to skip it next year).

Everything fits together in only one way in your little black/white world....

I suspect I forgot more about dealing with gray areas than you ever knew. And I can tell you this: The best way of dealing with gray area is to have a well-defined gulf between black and white. As I've pointed out here before, the liberals' failure to establish black-and-white, right-and-wrong, absolute, unwavering positions is what created the monster.

Liberalism brought us such gems as Social Security, Medicare, the Vietnam War, the Welfare State, the worst aspects of our criminal justice system, the list goes on and on. When you review what liberalism has done to this nation, one might doubt that liberalism and intellect can coexist in the same person. "

I am disappointed, you didn't mention Clinton once. I know you can do better than this David. Thanks for illustrating my point, you see something that you don't agree with. Somewhere, a dim, little neuron fires, and it triggers a canned tirade against liberals or Clinton, despite what the subject matter is. Everything fits together in only one way in your little black/white world....

Not to worry......its why the Reps. never get to hold office for very long. They can't seem to get it thru their collective heads that there are people who need medicare or social security...that not everyone is independently wealthy.

Right now, Bush has the highest of any US president in history. What's your bet they blow it? His rating is due to his success in fighting the war in Afghanistan.............one of the favorite things that Reps. like to do.....fight a war. However, what they don't get is that while they like what Bush did, Americans as with most people don't like war. Of course, Bush thinks he has that all figured out by running around, yelling "its the economy, stupid!" and "no more taxes', but in the meantime the Reps are pushing for billions more in defense causing our deficit position to grow once again which Clinton, bless his liberal heart, manage to stop like a good fiscal conservative should.

Bottom line......the worm will turn so quickly, it will catch the brilliant Reps off guard. And than we'll hear the Reps. moaning and groaning that the American people are stupid and don't know what's best for it. It happens everytime...........they are like Pavlov's dogs.
