Whort, re: "AMD said in their CC that they produced "10s of thousands" of XPs."

From JC's CC transcript (http://www.jc-news.com/parse.cgi?pc/AMD/CC/2001Q4 after 8:25): "We shipped tens of thousands of model XP 2000 in the quarter and produced 4 million Athlons XP."

Wrong!!! Try 4 million XP's

Whoret wrote: AMD said in their CC that they produced "10s of thousands" of XPs. If they show up on pricewatch that means they can't even sell "10s of thousands" of XPs to OEMs but must dump them on the grey market instead. That's not good.

"If they show up on pricewatch that means they can't even sell "10s of thousands" of XPs"

Wrong thinking. By the nature and low volume
of DIY/Whitebox business (per enterprise), the
pricewatch is exactly the place where small boxmakers
shop for their processors.
