frank,

Well, according to a lot of guys, nice and otherwise, who post on the other thread, there is a changing of the guard, a new leader in the CPU business, an new innovator who will soon put Intel on the ropes.

You are kidding, right? AMD has been offered several chances to become the "new" leader in the CPU business. If "success" is defined as being the leader, they have failed, miserably.

The only reason why AMD is in the game is because Intel lets them. And, for that reason alone, I choose Intel as an investment over AMD.

Well, that is not my opinion. I pretty much see status quo in the future, with minor ups and downs between the 2. These minor swings can make wonders with AMD's bottom line, and hopefully, I would like to take advantage of them.

Intel is not affected by these minor swings as much. Intel depends mostly on the growth of the overall market.

That's why these pronouncement of floods, tsunamis by Teletubbies entertain me. If there is a good demand for CPUs, Intel can sell NorthWinds, if there are no Northwinds, Intel can sell Celeries, and if those are sold out, Intel can sell Cabbage, and people will buy it as long as it runs windows.

Joe

If AMD were "swept from the surface of the earth," it would alleviate those possibilities, wouldn't it?

Then where would NiceGuy lose his money?
