Nuggets you say are rare. However the nuggets of auriferous knowledge you provide us with has to make the GPM site one of the most interesting around.
As it is January, I have to eat crow since I was calling for a POG of $325 12 months ago. However, nothing daunted, I am forecasting a slightly higher 2002 year end POG price of $345.
Talking once more of nuggets & VG, many years ago I knew a guy in London who had (then) an intimate knowledge of Ashanti's stopes. He told me that in one area there were walls with VG veins on each side. I asked him why then were these not mined. "Only when the POG is low enough. What's the point otherwise?"

At the time Ashanti's dividend yield was 18-19%. This was in 1965.

<<The Largest in the Natural World was found in the Croesus Mine some 40 miles west of Timmins Ontario. It was some 2000 ounces Troy ( 136 pounds avoirdupois)>>

I have never heard of the above nugget. Do you have more information and links ? Could not find it on ROM site.

I thought the largest was the "Hand of Faith" at 876 troy ounces found in 1980 in Australia and now residing at a casino in Las Vegas.
