IMHO, any oil shortage in the future will be temporary IF
the US would soon begin to help Afghanistan and the little surrounding countries to the north of it tap their oil. Don't be surprised if a quasi-colony of the US begins to spring up sooner than later (say, by 2003-2004) in that part of the world. By that time, it is likely the Israeli-Palestinian conflict may be winding down.

IF all that happen, say you heard it here first.

Remember I said in August 2001 that a recession would hit the US by the end of last year? And because of 9/11 it was officially announced a month ahead of my prediction?
