This is the difference between, for example, a Clinton and a Bush. Clinton couldn't take a pee without first checking the polls. On the other hand, Bush apparently doesn't give a damn about the polls, he will do what he was elected to do, which is to exercise his best judgment. Some would argue that by listening to other people whether its your constituents, your employees, your families or your friends, might afford you the opp. to learn something. But you are like the guy who thinks he's finished 'doing' the internet; that is, that you know everything there is to know.Aaahhhhhhh, but it is. At least in a democracy, it is! No, it isn't. The Founding Fathers, in their wisdom, made every effort to insulate the nation's management from the whims of an uninformed electorate. This is what brought us the Senate, as well as the Electoral College. Like many things, a little info goes a long way with you. All members of the Senate are elected to office by THE PEOPLE; all members of the electoral college are elected to their positions by THE PEOPLE in their political parties. The US Constitution begins, "We, THE PEOPLE, in order to form a more perfect union.........". The people are the most important element in a democracy. That self evident truth manages to elude Reps......its why they have trouble staying in office among other things. Your comments are the early seeds from where a Hitler springs forth. While, as a general principle, I would love to see some basic knowledge of the issues required as a prerequisite to voting, I'm not sure that's materially better than the current system, in which voters are subject to manipulation by crooked party operatives. Democrats in the last election literally delivered incapacitated nursing home residents to the polls and help them vote for the candidates of their (the aid's) choice. How could you possibly know if incapacitated nursing home residents aren't well informed? All the ones I have met are. You are such an elitist...its fukking scary. And let me remind you what the Dec. of Independence says: "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal" and that includes nursing home patients, blacks, whites, latinos and yes, even "50,000 homos in New Orleans". And just for the record, I worked on election campaigns when I was in college......and you know all those nursing home patients you trashed......not one was ever manipulated to vote for the candidate providing the ride. While an extreme example of manipulation, it is of the same character of what happens when you have Carville and Begala telling one lie after another to gullible voters. A powerful argument can be made that it is this kind of abuse that forms the basis for a Hitler-ish regime. These kinds of crooked political ploys have been a trademark of the Democrat party for years, preying on the weaknesses of the voting public. A fascist regime starts out with an arrogant man or group of men who think they know what's best for THE PEOPLE. All I have to say is that you and your ilk best not mess with this country. All this showing of the flag and cheering on the flag waiving bs is just that, bs.........and I don't buy into for a second. And I am not the only one not fooled. The people who really do understand what democracy is all about and how it works are watching your kind every minute.
