Fine, let's not learn anything from Enron. When do we learn a lesson then. Doesn't Enron's bankruptcy illustrate anything. Why does it have to be a meaningless event. "The responsibility era". -- In the case of Enron, are there no people responsible. Are not execs responsible in anyway.

Democrats see practically every issue, and every electorate as a kind of a "victim".
This is the straw man you so like to beat up. In my opinion the core philosophy in the Democratic party is the concept of commons. A common is a property or right owned by the people as a whole. For example the air is a common resource even though it may blow over private property. A museum is a common resource where you can look but cannot touch. This is in contrast to the conservative and libertarian view of "It's mine, all mine, leave me alone." about pretty much everything. This notion about victims is a Republican canard to avoid discussing the actual issues.
