mm - Yes however, anybody who has cash in an MMF knows the interest on those funds have gone down precipitously over the past year, so presumably that effect is pretty profound on a large holder of cash and short-term instruments like QCOM

And it would be a pity if that fact obscured the good growth in chips and Roylaties so why not split them out to show them so thee will be no misunderstanding.

Thats what they seem to me to be doing.

I think that this has already happened....Q4 revenues in the other category were $12m with a loss of $8m.

I would assume that the loss of interest income should have been modeled in the $1.10-$1.20 estimate that was given during the last CC. This estimate may be revised downward now that investment gains and interest on carrier loans has been moved out of pro-forma.....but the interest income should remain constant.
