I'm betting, even though I'm not sure, that broker/dealers do not want to tangle with the IRS and may have those particular IRA's disqualified.

So I believe you have to have the funds or means in the account to cover the trade at all times, similar to a margin call, or they will close the trade. Most likely they will want an extra cushion.

I believe you are correct...and the way to handle this is to exercisie the LEAP..or better yet, if you see the stk gitting close to being called away..buy the call back, or buy the stock in anticipation of being called away?
