JAS - HS actually up so far as I can see and its Monday!!!!
They'll have to find some other sector to scare the market this week as the Chinese Handset slowdown is getting tired and doesn't scare enough this week.

Maybe try value stocks for a change, they haven't had a good scare lately.

Best,

L

John, although the Hong Kong market (and by extension the Chinese market) is quite volatile, it is well off its highs and considered by many to be ready to revive. A slowing in the growth rate for wireless subscribers would be in line with slower economic growth worldwide. That might be reason to predict less business for QUALCOMM, but on the other hand, the wireless business on the mainland of China is driven by the need to have a smooth working, high capacity phone system in place as China prepares for the Olympics and other major sports events coming up in the near future. Also, just being able to do business in China requires wireless phones, since the wired infrastructure is by itself inadequate.

Until I see some real evidence of a slowing in orders for CDMA chipsets, or lower than expected royalty payments, I'll continue to consider QCOM a buy.
