My Chinese friends say they have to get pregnant early in the year to avoid having a baby born next year in the year of the goat - goats are thought to have very unfortunate lives -- so the rush is on to get pregnant in the first few months of this year -- the drop-off after April in the Chinese community is likely to be dramatic. .

Thanks for the excellent recap. How's about jewelry retailers like Zales (ZLC)? Valuation looks reasonable but there is no catalyst to buy. Sonny, Believe this or not I am not familiar enough with Zales from an investing point of view. Their bread and butter is the Zales chain. I am not sure how well their guild store Baily, Banks and Biddle is doing and what percentage it is of their business or profits. So you noticed engagements and weddings are up too. One thought is fewer people are traveling so they are going to movies and in a few months get married;-) Seriously, the amount of marriages vastly increased since September 11th. I can't really explain it.
