Cary, Gottfried:

Sorry, I had a "senior moment" there. For some reason, I was reasonably certain that the author of Superstocks was Phillip Fisher, Ken's dad. This is probably because it was published way back in 1984, so I had assumed it was written by the elder Fisher. Also based on my recollection of the book from my 2-hour quick read a couple of years back, I found it to be very different in style and substance from the "new" Ken Fisher, whose Forbes articles predicting near-term market direction Gottfried occasionally brings to our attention.

It's obvious that Ken Fisher is very astute. But he seems to change his opinions quite frequently. Just last month he was waiting for technical confirmation in certain indeces to go long. Now he is bearish based on holes in forecasted ranges of other experts. I think I prefer his discussions of stock selection, rather than his predictions of the near-term direction of the market. However, perhaps I'm just blaming the messenger because I don't like his latest message. <g>
