Microsoft hired David Cutler away from Digital to develop Windows NT. Cutler is a kind of
mad genus and chief architect of VMS. When he when to Microsoft it made the
news. It was a BIG hit for Digital at that time as I recall. His expertise and approach to
OS design is most definitely in NT.
