For David, anyone he doesn't agree with he labels a "liberal".

This is a false statement. Anyone who defends and supports Clinton, however, I pretty much classify as a liberal; only the Barbara Streisands of the world do this. This is not "painting with a broad brush", but rather, simply acknowledging the facts: In eight years of a Clinton administration we no significant accomplishments (uh, well, the economy that he had nothing to do with, but other than that) and tons of scandal.

My remark in the referenced post was a result of what I felt was a defense of Clinton. I certainly do not, today, feel he is a liberal. On the other hand, he and I still don't agree about the abuse of power question.

I can understand why liberals run from the term; the connotation is overwhelming.
