"SO the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941 is just "speculation"? GREAT! Then the US dropping those two bombs on Japan is just "speculation", too! End of problem. To speculate is to, (Websters) "1 a : to meditate on or ponder a subject" One can speculate based on facts and evidence; or one can speculate in a woolly, whimsical, prejudiced, and self serving manner. The evidence indicates (and this is the belief of most of our American "heroes") that it was insistence that their God also be profaned, and perhaps executed, which prevented them from surrendering or face utter destruction. You should also ask yourself why nothing was said against the atrocious Japanese treatment of the Chinese until after America entered the war. It was simply ho-hum.
