Apparently, the improvement in crime, and the urban environment in general, welfare to name a few means nothing to you.

Crime is mostly a local issue. A big part of the reduction in crime and improvement in the urban environment is the policies of Guliani, and those who instituted similar ideas in other cities. Welfare reform was something that conservatives had been pushing for a long time, but at least Clinton didn't veto it.

Tim, the Clinton admins. thru D. Shalala pushed for welfare reform. Its not by chance that WI had the first major break throughs in welfare reform.......Shalala had been chancellor at the Univ. of WI before joining Clinton.

The Clinton admins. also pushed for and got police reforms. As for Guiliani and NYC.......that's a unique situation....most urban programs that fly in NYC can't be replicated in other cities with maybe the exception of LA.
