6:10PM Moody's downgrades Kmart to Caa3 (KM) by Carolyn Pritchard Moody's Investors Services downgraded the long-term debt ratings of Kmart Corp. (KM) to Caa3 and left the ratings on review for a further downgrade. The ratings service noted that against a backdrop of declining confidence, including reports that key suppliers have stopped shipping to the struggling retailer, Kmart has failed to make any announcement regarding its financing arrangements to support its business on an ongoing basis. "With the passage of time," wrote Moody's in a release, "Kmart's options are narrowing and its prospects of being able to secure financing outside bankruptcy are diminishing." www2.marketwatch.com
