I don't think people in Japan, for example, do much of anything to exercise unless you count walking in subway stations. They drink like fish, smoke like crazy and do not have better water that I know of -- the research focus has been on diet as I said. The main thing we eat that they do not eat is animal fat in large quantities. The differences in cancer rates are stunning -- ten to one.

it's sugar intake you dope. stop looking at fat, you're wasting your time. every single numb-skulled scientist in the world has studied fat levels trying to find the connection. they all mostly ignore the sugar factor. of course if you do want to focus on fat at all--hydrogenated trans-fats are the culprit. yet the same doctors that tell us to avoid saturated animal fats are the same suckers who lead the sheep to the slaughter by telling them to eat margarine rather than butter. they also encourage people to eat less animal fat and the associated protein which usually accompanies that fat, so people naturally end up eating more grains, starches, and sugar. people eat a banana, a yogurt, or some cereal with sugary skim milk for breakfast, rather than eating a ham and cheese omellete.

this aint rocket science.
