Wow- got to use this twice today. Life is SO cool! Godwin's Law prov. [Usenet] "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one." There is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, that thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. However there is also a widely- recognized codicil that any intentional triggering of Godwin's Law in order to invoke its thread-ending effects will be unsuccessful.

Christ was a Baptist or Hitler was a Catholic After Jesus was baptized by his cousin, John, he was officially a member of the Baptist Church. The Baptists and the Catholics have a divergent view of heaven. A trip to any southern American town can confirm that Christ was indeed a Baptist. Satan is trying to decide whether he wants to be an Episcopalian, a Presbyterian or a Calvinist. His other plan is to sneak into Heaven after Earth is shut down. I keep telling him that God is omniscient and will see through his disguise.
